Sandalwood

Sandalwood is a slow-growing tree with heavy, yellow and fine-grained aromatic wood that can retain its scent for decades. Sandalwood originated in South India and has now spread to countries like Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, etc. Considered one of the rather important fragrances in Indian Spiritualism, it is part of many rituals and ceremonies. The scent of Sandalwood can be described as a woody, creamy and warm fragrance that is very distinct. Sandalwood is also part of a lot of homemade skin care routines in Indian households.

Sandalwood has a long list of benefits, including using an attar made of Sandalwood for the treatment of stomach aches and soothing headaches. It can also be used as an antiseptic.
