Patchouli

Patchouli is a purple-flowered, green-leafed plant that is part of the mint family native to India, Malaysia and Indonesia. The name Patchouli originates from Tamil Nadu where the words “patchai ellai” translate to green leaf. Despite the fragile-looking leaves, they pack a powerful sweet, cedary scent with hints of spicy notes.

It is also called “the scent of the 60s” because it was famous in the form of essential oil with the young crowd of the 60s in Europe and the West. Patchouli is known to be an excellent insect repellent, helps control appetite and has shown anti-inflammatory properties against skin conditions like acne, dermatitis and dry skin.
